Draw A Rough Sketch Of A Picnic Table Frame Structure

Listen up y'all, summer is here and that means one thing - it's time to get outdoors and spend some quality time with your loved ones. And what better way to do that than with a DIY picnic table?! That's right, we got our hands on some bomb plans for an 8 foot picnic table that you can build yourself!

Now, don't y'all be intimidated by the thought of building your own picnic table. Trust us, if we can do it, so can you. And besides, it's a helluva lot cheaper than buying one from the store.

Before we get started, y'all gonna need to gather up some materials. We recommend grabbing:

• 4 - 2x6x8'
• 4 - 2x4x8'
• 2 - 2x8x8'
• 100 - 2 1/2" deck screws
• Wood glue
• Waterproof sealant (optional)

Alright, got everything you need? Great! Let's get started with the instructions to build your very own DIY picnic table.

Step 1: Cut the Legs

Grab your 4 - 2x4x8' boards and cut them down to size, y'all. You gonna need 4 legs for your picnic table, so cut each board into 2 - 28" pieces and 2 - 24" pieces for a total of 16 legs pieces.

Step 2: Cut the Tabletop and Seats

Now it's time to cut the boards for the tabletop and seats. Grab your 2 - 2x8x8' boards and cut them into the following pieces:

• 2 - 28" pieces
• 5 - 60" pieces
• 2 - 24" pieces

And for the seats:

• 4 - 60" pieces
• 4 - 9 1/2" pieces

Step 3: Assemble the Legs

Take two of your 28" leg pieces and attach them to a 24" leg piece using wood glue and your deck screws. Repeat this step for all 4 legs.

Step 4: Assemble the Tabletop

Time to assemble the tabletop, y'all! Take 3 of the 60" pieces and attach them to the 2 - 28" pieces using wood glue and deck screws. Then, take the remaining 2 - 60" pieces and attach them to the tabletop frame using deck screws.

Step 5: Assemble the Seats

Similar to the tabletop, take 2 of the 60" pieces and attach them to the 2 - 9 1/2" pieces using deck screws. Then, attach the remaining 2 - 60" pieces to the seat frame using deck screws.

Step 6: Attach the Legs to the Tabletop

Now it's time to attach the legs to the tabletop. Attach the legs to the tabletop frame using wood glue and deck screws. Make sure everything is level before tightening the screws all the way.

Step 7: Attach the Seats to the Legs

Almost done, folks! Attach the seat frames to the legs using wood glue and deck screws. Again, make sure everything is level before tightening the screws.

Step 8: Seal the Wood (Optional)

If you wanna make sure your new DIY picnic table lasts for years to come, we recommend sealing the wood with a waterproof sealant. This will protect it from the elements and keep it looking fresh and fly.

How to Use Your New Picnic Table
